Midy founded The Sánchez Ricardo Agency in 2009 with the belief that we have entered a new era in public relations. One where aggressive, high-level strategic communications must be married with bottom-up social involvement in order to raise awareness, spark genuine interest and generate action from target audiences.

As a bicultural and bilingual communications professional, Midy is a sought after strategist in conceptualizing digital media campaigns that integrate multi-faceted public relations tactics, coalition-building efforts and program development. Sánchez Ricardo’s client roster profiles the country’s most notable influencers in the Hispanic marketplace, including AOL Latino and the National Council of La Raza.

Prior to founding Sánchez Ricardo, Midy served as a Vice President at the Walker Marchant Group (WMG) and led the Eli Lilly and Company, Tyco International and SSP America accounts. In this role, Midy spearheaded their strategic media relations, issues management and coalition-building efforts. She also provided strategic counsel for Arbitron, Best Buy, Walgreens and many other Fortune 500 clients.

Before joining WMG, Midy managed media relations strategies for the American Legacy Foundation’s award-winning smoking cessation campaigns and initiatives. Her efforts resulted in media placements in SELF Magazine, Washington Post, CNN, FOX News, CNN en Español and the Associated Press, as well as countless other national and regional outlets.

At PR agency GolinHarris, she designed social justice movements to create issue awareness and engage young adults to become advocates for change. While there, she worked with more than a dozen state health departments from throughout the country on their youth empowerment anti-tobacco campaigns.

A first generation Cuban American, Midy is a contributor for Huffington Post’s Latino Voices and has been featured as a political commentator on CNN en Español. She is also a Fellow in the National Hispana Leadership Institute’s 2011 Executive Leadership Program and a member of several membership organizations, including the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Midy is a graduate of Florida International University’s School of Journalism and lives in the District of Columbia.
